Achimota School · The Centenary, 2027
In 2027 Achimota turns one hundred. The Centenary Square will carry, in stone and water, the names of those who secured her second century. Yours can be among them, or the name of the person who made you.
Whose name will you leave?
Yourself. An Akora parent. A family, a couple, a year group. The Square holds a fixed number of names, each at a fixed place, each cut to last.
Your name is cut into stone or metal on the campus itself, in the historic heart of the School, in perpetuity. Not a certificate. A place.
Honour yourself, an Akora parent, a family, a couple, or a year group. Seven levels, from a line on the Honour Roll to a stand-alone monument, each with a fixed place and size.
Every gift also strengthens the Achimota School Endowment Trust, so the School that shaped you is still shaping Ghana in its second century.

The ground
Behind the Old Assembly Hall, between the Administration Block and Aggrey House, in October 2026 it was cleared and pegged out. It will become the Centenary Square: a garden of stone walls, seating under the old trees, and at its head the Achimota crest in black marble, with water falling over its piano keys and the words every Akora knows.
Go forth as living water to a thirsty land.
Around it, the names. Six on the tablets by the crest. Thirty in gold and fifty in silver along the walls. Every contributor, at every level, on the Honour Roll. The Square opens for the centenary in 2027. The names stay as long as the gates stand.
The Square
A model of the Square on the measured plot, every recognition level in its place. Walk it at your own pace, or follow the tour.
From the car park, under the pergola, into a walled garden in the heart of the campus. The Administration Block and its clock tower stand beyond.
West of the car park and south of the classroom block. The plot measures 22 metres along the car park and about 41 metres deep.
Stone benches and a crescent of boulders ring a paved centre beneath the plot's own shade trees. Somewhere for students between classes, and for Akoras coming home.
The mature trees already on the site are kept in their own beds.
At the head of the Square the Achimota crest stands in a pool of black marble, a curtain of water falling over its piano keys. It is the first of the Living Water Monuments: each a stand-alone dedication.
Up to six monuments. Six Centenary tablets curve around the crest.
Gold and Silver plaques line the boundary walls. Platinum totems stand on the islands and beds. The Centenary Honour Roll records every Bronze and Dreammakers contributor by name and year group.
Plaques from 300 mm to 800 mm. Which feature carries which level is confirmed by the Centenary Committee.
Walk the Square at your own pace. Every recognition level has a place you can visit, select, and read about.
Recognition
Each level has a fixed place, size and number in the Square. When a level is full, it is closed.
| Level | Indicative contribution | Recognition | Availability | Location |

Who stands behind it
The Centenary is led by the Old Achimotan Association's Centenary Committee. Names appear here only with consent, as they come.
A landmark that celebrates a century of service and recognises, in perpetuity, those whose generosity secured the School's future.
Selected projects and initiatives that leave a tangible, lasting benefit to the School.
The Achimota School Endowment Trust: the School's long-term financial resilience, and its capacity to serve well beyond 2027.

How it works
Give at once, or agree a structured pledge with the Centenary fundraising team. Your recognition begins once 50% of the pledge is received, and is completed when the full commitment is settled.
Names confirmed before the carving date are cut in time for the centenary ceremony. The Committee will announce the date here.
Questions
Behind the Old Assembly Hall, beside the western entrance of the Administration Block and the eastern entrance of Aggrey House. The ground was cleared in October 2026.
A fixed form of recognition at a fixed place: a stand-alone monument at the Living Water level, an 800 mm plaque at Centenary, 500 mm at Platinum, 350 mm at Gold, 300 mm at Silver, and a name on the Honour Roll at Bronze and Dreammakers. Each level has a set number of places. When a level is full, it is closed.
Yourself, an Akora parent or family member, an individual, couple or family connected to Achimota, a corporate or philanthropic partner, or a year group or community.
Yes. Agree a pledge with the Centenary fundraising team. Recognition begins once half the pledge is received and is completed at full settlement.
To three purposes: the Centenary Square, selected legacy projects for the School, and the Achimota School Endowment Trust.
The layout and the recognition features follow the architect's design. Placement, wording and final numbers are confirmed by the Centenary Committee so the Square stays architecturally coherent.
Names confirmed by the carving date will be cut in time for the centenary ceremony. The Committee is to confirm that date.
